Projects are added, dropped and reviewed every year.  These are some additional projects that support a variety of philanthropic activities.

Crayon Quilts

The members of the "Crayons" Group continue to partner with schools and local emergency and police groups to create quilts to be used by children experiencing a trip to the ER.  Blocks are created by kids for kids and set into an overall quilt design by these talented Guild members.

Placemats for Meals on Wheels

Newtown Quilters joined in on the Share the Love program in 2023 with a virtual workshop held each February.  The I Found a Quilted Heart (IFAQH) community of volunteers make make quilted hearts which are placed anonymously in public locations for people to find. Meals on Wheels placemats serve both a practical and emotional purpose. They provide a clean, reusable surface for meals while adding a personal, cheerful touch that can make seniors feel cared for and connected. Kids and volunteers often create placemats to accompany delivered meals, helping to enhance the dining experience and reduce feelings of isolation among recipients
