Philanthropy

PictureQuilts for Camp Erin
Newtown Quilters’ Guild reaches out to those who are going through a difficult time by providing the love and warmth of quilts. We hope that our quilts will let their recipients know that they are not forgotten.

Our philanthropic endeavors are coordinated by our Philanthropy Chairs who will make the
donation of your quilt and who will answer any questions that you may have.

Following is a list of organizations to which we currently donate quilts. To learn more about the work of these groups, check out their websites:

Quilts for Kids http://www.quiltsforkids.org/
Quilt size needed: approximately 38” – 40” x 45” – 46”. You will find more information on their FAQS page: http://www.quiltsforkids.org/faq.htm

Project Linus https://www.projectlinus.org/
See their website, under FAQS, for what is needed by this organization.

Patriot Program at Capital Health
Quilts, featuring patriotic motifs or red and blue fabrics, with a size range of 24” to 36” x
24” to 36”.

Camp Erin https://moyerfoundation.org/camps-programs/camp-erin/
Newtown Quilters’ Guild donates quilts for the childrens’ beds at the camp. The ages
are from 6 to 18 years, both boys and girls. For children, up to about age 11, the minimum size is 50” x 70”. The older children need larger quilts, 60” x 80”. While there is usually a good donation of quilts, suitable for girls, there is a real need for boys’ quilts. Making nongender-specific quilts will work for both girls and boys. The quilts need to be completed by May 1.  You may, also, want to read more about Camp Erin at this website:
