2020 Members' Quilt Challenge - Curved Piecing

One of the traditions of the Newtown Quilters’ Guild is to hold a challenge on the year when there is no quilt show. This year, our challenge is Curved Piecing. There are many ways to do curved piecing. You can find it as part of traditional blocks and you can do it in an improv style. This topic gives you many possible avenues to explore.
The purpose of a guild challenge is to allow you the opportunity to stretch your boundaries. You might want to try a technique that you’ve never used before. You might use a technique or style that is not what you would normally do. In this challenge we are giving you a chance to grow in your quilting life. We have personally benefited from the knowledge and experience we’ve obtained from the many challenges I’ve been a part of.
Give yourself permission to relax. Not every quilt is a masterpiece. This is going to be a small quilt. It allows you to try something different and take the risk on something that might not be an heirloom. But it just might turn out to be spectacular.

- The challenge is due at the October meeting
- Maximum size is 36" x 36" or the equivalent perimeter
- If you use someone else’s pattern or design, please credit them
- If someone else does the quilting, credit them also
- You can enter up to 2 quilts.
