Celebration! |
Every summer we celebrate our Guild and Summer with a Strawberry Fest at our June meeting. This June our Guild will be 30! and so a special celebration is being planned by a committee led by Betty Hancock. We'll be celebrating with everything strawberry including Strawberry Cake and sharing our blocks for the commemorative member-made Friendship quilt we will be making, the same quilt made during the first year of the Guild in 1989. Take a look at this recipe from original Guild member Sally Zorn.
If you have any suggestions for the celebration, please contact Betty Hancock. |
Friendship Star Quilt |
To commemorate the first Newtown Quilters' Guild quilt, a Friendship Star pattern, the planning committee is asking everyone to make one Friendship Star block so we can make the same quilt in 2019! They will be sewn into a commemorative quilt to be displayed at our 2019 Quilt Show.
To see the pattern, go to www.generations-quilt-patterns.com/friendship-star-quilt-block.html. If you want to participate, all blocks are to be 6-1/2" unfinished using the pattern at the Generations quilt patterns site. Please choose colors that are red for the color and cream as the background. They can be any pattern fabric. The blocks are due at the June meeting. |
